Hello and welcome to my website. I play and teach Jazz guitar in the Chicago area and have been at it for over 30 years. Playing wise I like straightahead archtop style, and I do mostly trio with drums and bass and trio with piano and bass, along with solo and all the other combinations. Closest to my heart are Bird and Trane and Duke and Pops and all the 40's, 50's and 60's thing. I started as a big Hendrix fan (still am), but Joe Pass and George Benson won me over.

At Elmhurst College I teach classes, combos and private lessons. I am also a Visiting Professor of Jazz Guitar at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. This summer I will be teaching the second session Jazz camp at Interlochen, which is geared toward High School musicians.
There are some new gigs shaping up for me locally. Next Sunday March 7 I am doing the Jazz Vespers at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Niles. I will be getting spiritual with Frank Winkler, Nick Tountas and Rusty Jones. Also look for me doing some solo things at Nirvana in Vernon Hills starting in April.
