June 28, 2010
Hello and welcome to my website. I play and teach Jazz guitar in the Chicago area and have been at it for over 30 years. Playing wise I like straightahead archtop style, and I do mostly trio with drums and bass and trio with piano and bass, along with solo and all the other combinations. Closest to my heart are Bird and Trane and Duke and Pops and all the 40's, 50's and 60's thing. I started as a big Hendrix fan (still am), but Joe Pass and George Benson won me over.

Please check the "shows" page from time to time if you are in the greater Chicago area. If I am performing in a show that looks interesting to you please stop by and say hi.

At Elmhurst College I teach classes, combos and private lessons. I am also a Visiting Professor of Jazz Guitar at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. This summer I will be teaching the second session Jazz camp at Interlochen, which is geared toward High School musicians. Also there is room for a couple more private students this summer.

I am at Cafe Muppett on Monday with a nice sextet playing good mainstream bebop and hard bop. There are others on the "Shows" page.
